As .NET developer at SSAB you will be handling systems running parts of the Oxelösund steel plant, a giant machine running 24-7, 365 days a year. SSAB is world leading when it comes to high strength steels and the largest steel producer in the Nordics. So, to start with, the stats are impressive, but this is only the beginning. SSAB is right now launching one of its largest investments ever, to start produce fossil free steel by 2026, through a technology called HYBRIT. For the steel plant in Oxelösund this means rebuilding the factory, and a total overhaul of all IT-systems. Over the coming years legacy systems and platforms will be exchanged for a state-of-the art IT environment. In other words, you as a .NET developer will have an opportunity of a lifetime, to help create the smartest, most digitized fossil free steel factory in the world!
Your responsibilities as a .NET developer at SSAB will for starters be to understand your new domain, and then start building new applications and systems! You will be working together in an agile team where responsibilities and roles are shared. In the coming changes you as a developer will surely be presented with both challenges and great career opportunities. Your dev team today consists of 7 developers, mostly senior ones, soon to expand.
Considering the location, Oxelösund, you can work from a distance, but if you can be at the office at least once a week we would be very happy. WHO ARE YOU?
Considering the great changes coming along in this .NET position, you hopefully like change and implementation of new systems as well as developing new systems and functions/applications. If you also are a straight spoken teamplayer and a person that likes to have a close dialogue with the business you will have a great time at SSAB! You need to have experience of .NET frameworks as well as working with C# source code. You also have to have experience of Linux servers, on-prem and experience of integration development. If you also have experience from .NET Core and Microservices architecture, Containerization, CI/CD, and other coding languages/scripts (C, C++, Cobol, Fortran, PLSQL) as well as an interest for JS frameworks such as Vue, React or Angular, you are seen as highly attractive by us. These skills are on the meritorious list.
