Your main duties as System Developer at SAS Crew Planning organization are developing valuable functionality and code development in our Jeppesen Crew Management System (CMS) with regards to business needs and requirements. This is a new function at SAS, which offers opportunity to shape the role based on your experience and knowledge. With you on the journey, you will work in cooperation with our external system developer located in Gothenburg and in conjunction with their framework for code development. You will also liase with our external developer to secure joint development practices. Additionally, you will be supporting as system expert in development of operating procedures and best practices in Crew Planning. The work will be in close collaboration with Crew Planning, and therefore require continued involvement in the operational business to better understand the needs of the CMS users. The technical environment includes Linux, C/C++ or Python, Bash and SQL.
Who are you?
You are an independent and communicative team player with the ability to structure, plan, prioritize, and be responsible for your own tasks and projects in coordination with our team and our external development partner. Customer oriented with interest in understanding needs and expectations in the SAS organization. You have analytical skills and the ability to compile complex data, clarify issues, and present conclusions. You are likely to have experience from functions in system development, e.g., code development, process development, project management, and client interaction.
We believe that you have experience from working with and developing agile practices and standards such as Scrum and Kanban.
You have experience of Linux, Python or C/C++, Bash, and basic SQL-knowledge. In addition, knowledge of RAVE (Jeppesen code) would be a bonus but is not required. We believe that you will actively raise ideas for improvements of systems and processes in order to continue our journey towards planning excellence. Moreover, you will need to be proficient in communication, both written and spoken, in both English and one of the Scandinavian languages.

SAS IT & Digital Innovation is responsible for all IT within Scandinavian Airlines. The business unit Operations Planning IT within SAS IT & Digital Innovation is responsible for providing all IT services necessary to support the end-to-end planning and execution processes and business departments within SAS Operations. It includes both network planning and planning of crew and ground personnel. The organization has around 100 employees and is located at SAS Head Office at Frösundavik in Solna, just outside Stockholm city. There is a gym, restaurant, café and a variety of services to make your life easier. There’s a non-stop bus connection from the Central Station to Frösunda and commuter trains to/from Solna Station. Of course, cycling is another option and many of us enjoy the scenic route to the office every day.
